Emirates Visa Application Process: Form To Approval In 5 Steps
An Emirates visa application is one online form, four documents, one payment and a decision from UAE immigration. The form takes about ten minutes with your passport beside you. Standard applications are decided in 3–4 working days; urgent within 24 hours; super urgent in 3–4 working hours. Here is exactly what happens at each step.
Step 01
Tell Us Your Nationality And Where You Are Applying From
Two answers decide everything else in your Emirates visa application: the passport you hold and the country you are applying from. Nationality decides whether you need a visa at all and which visas you can be issued; the country you apply from changes the documents immigration expects, because a resident abroad is assessed differently from someone applying at home. Choose both on the home page and the visa list, prices and document checklist adjust to your case before you type anything else.
Step 02
Pick The Visa That Matches Your Trip
Emirates visas are sold by length of stay and number of entries: 14, 30, 60 or 90 days, single or multiple entry, with 30-day and 60-day visas available in a version that can be extended inside the UAE. Each card shows the fee for that visa, the standard processing time and whether it is extendable. Choose the stay that covers your whole trip with a few days to spare; overstaying is fined per day, and an application for a longer visa costs far less than a fine. Applying no earlier than two months before travel keeps the 60-day entry window safely open.
Step 03
Fill In The Form And Upload Your Documents
The Emirates visa application form asks for your passport details exactly as printed: full name, passport number, dates of issue and expiry, place of birth, plus your occupation, travel date and contact details. Type them from the passport, not from memory; a single dropped middle name is the most common reason an application is queried. Then upload four documents: a flat colour scan of the passport bio page with six months' validity left, a recent photo on a plain white background, a confirmed flight ticket and your hotel booking. JPG, PNG and PDF are accepted. Travelling as a family or group? Fill the form once and add each traveller on the next screen, before payment.
Step 04
Review The Fee And Pay Once
Checkout lists the government charge, our service charge and the processing speed you have chosen as separate lines, so you can see what the Emirates visa application fee is made of before you confirm. Standard processing is included; urgent (decided within 24 hours) and super urgent (3–4 working hours) can be added here. Pay by card or any other method shown, and a receipt and your application ID arrive by email within minutes. Nothing further is charged after approval.
Step 05
Track The Application, Then Check The Visa Before You Fly
After payment an adviser checks every field of your application against the passport scan, asks for anything missing, and files it with UAE immigration. Enter your application ID on the application status page to see which stage it has reached: document review, filed, decision. The approved e-visa is emailed as a PDF and can be downloaded from the same page. Before you travel, check that the name and passport number on it match your passport and that the entry-by date covers your flight, then print a copy to show at check-in.
